HARMAN MOTIVE WINS STREET CLASS AT MILLER MOTORSPORTS PARK GTLIVE/REDLINE TIMEATTACK
June 30th, 2008
The Harman Motive team packed it up and headed for Tooele, Utah and Miller Motorsports Park. GT Live and Redline put on a spectacular event in the beautiful Utah mountains. Great teams and cars from all over the country were in attendance putting down some great times on the technical Miller course.
We hauled three TimeAttack machines nearly 800 miles from LA for the two day weekend. In attendance were JC Meynet and the HM06STI, Dan Harman in the HM08STI, and Stephen Ruiz in the HMEvoX. JC Meynet and the HM06STI ran in both the street and modified class, the only change being from Yokohama Advan Neova (255/40/17) to Yokohama A048 (285/35/18).
JC Meynet - HM06STI Results - Miller Motorsports Park
- Street Class Overall Champion
- Street Class AWD - First Place
- Modified Class AWD - Second Place
Dan Harman - HM08STI Results - Miller Motorsports Park
- Street Class AWD - 5th Place (This was Dan’s time-attack debut!)
Stephen Ruiz - HM08EvoX Results - Miller Motorsports Park
Street Class AWD - 6th Place
The event served as a positive start for the HM08STI and HMEvoX projects. We completed both cars just before the event and were able to get some great data. We’ll be taking some important lessons learned and applying them to the next event and of course our customer cars.
Special thanks to all of the great sponsors and people making this possible:
Special thanks to the guys at Cobb Tuning for all your help, dyno at the track = awesome! It was great seeing all of our competitors and friends again - see you all next month!
We’ve been busy preparing the new 2008 model Evo and STI for TimeAttack racing. Each car has gone through initial modifications with careful attention to suspension and braking. The cars were displayed at last weekend’s SPOCOM show in Long Beach, CA… now it’s time to get them dirty! We’ll be racing both cars this weekend in the GT Live TimeAttack at Miller Motorsports Park (SLC, UT) - June 27-29…. and don’t forget about this guy

Check out the June/July issue of Subiesport Magazine for a feature article on the 2008 WRX we built for SEMA last year. This car is running the Harman Motive GT35R turbokit, FMIC, Air/Oil Seperator along with some great AEM and SPT parts.

JC Meynet and the Harman Motive team set out for the NASA Timeattack at Firebird Raceway on May 24. Our first night race, we had a chance to truly put JC’s driving skills to the test. We were able to knock off some good times and qualify for the Super Lap finals while improving development on the 2006 STI. We’re looking forward to more NASA events through the year.
“The Harman Motive STI continued it’s streak of perfect reliability and performance. I’m pleased that we’ve yet to have a single DNF since 2007. The performance from our Cosworth engine and Harman turbokit have been amazingly consistent, holding up to 100+ degree temps, 160mph straights, and 8500rpm gear after gear.”
Our next TimeAttack is at Miller Motorsports park in Utah on June 29th. We hope to see you all there!

The new Club Sport Coilover is state-of-the-art technology for the skilled and experienced driver. The separate and independent compression and rebound damping options allow a truly individual driving set-up. These unique systems with the 3 individually adjustable components, allows for adjustment of the compression of the damper in the low-speed range, while the highspeed set-up, so decisive for driving comfort, has been preset by KW engineers.
-True 2 way. Independently adjustable damping technology
-Rebound and compression damping.
-Inox-line stainless steel technology.
-High-quality components for long life.
These coilovers feature the same inox-line stainless steel corrosion resistant construction as previous versions of KW suspensions. Spring rates are 8kg front and 8kg rear. These are aggressively valved, 2 way adjustable, performance coilovers. These are valved more aggressively then the standard KW Variant 3’s that are due out in May 2008.
This is the same system we’re running on our shop STI as well as our fleet of built-up customer 08s. We recommend combining these with a nice set of Harman Motive swaybars for a track monster that rides beautifully on the street too!
Harman Motive 2008 STI Exhaust - Production Images!
May 1st, 2008
Great news! The 2008 STI catback and downpipe are done. We’ve already shipped out the first batch, but we have a few spots left for the next units coming in (5/8/08). If you would like to get added to the list, please give us a call.
All of our catback exhausts come with our hand-made in California custom design tips. Made from 304SS, these 3.5″ tips are a true dual wall design. The thick (1/4″) wall gives the exhaust an aggressive and refined look, the perfect addition to the rear of the STI. You’ll find the fitment is second to none - very critical when you’ve got 4 big tips looking at you!
The downpipe (fits 2008 WRX, 2008 STI, and 2005-2007 Legacy GT) is a full 3″ design. It uses a cast bellmouth on the turbo side and has a high-flow cat at the rear.
Piloting the Harman Motive 2006 STI, JC Meynet showed another great performance at Buttonwillow in the NASA TTU class. The first NASA race for the Harman Motive team was a great success thanks to JC’s driving and our new 285 width Yokohama A048 race tires. The additional grip and improved Stoptech braking system came in handy in the hot California desert. With 500whp from a Cosworth 2.6L longblock, Harman Motive GT35R turbokit, and Protuned Cobb Accessport; JC managed to hold off the hard charging M1 Fabrication Evo driven by Russ Warr.
We’ll be posting lap times and official results as soon as they’re available!
Thanks to all the great people and sponsors that have made this great 2008 season possible!
We’re happy to announce that we’ve added an Evo X to our shop vehicle fleet. We’re already developing intake, exhaust, intercooler, suspension, and tuning parts for the car.
We’ll be modifying the Evo in sync with our 2008 STI and running both cars in TimeAttacks this year. It will be great to see how these two amazing vehicles really compare to eachother.
Power wise, both cars are pretty similar stock. The Evo put down 225whp and 240tq on our Mustang Dyno. However, the Evo is much heavier than the STI (300lbs!) - we’ll definately have to work on that.
